SECURITY/PUBLIC SAFETY

Approved by the State of New York Division of Criminal Justice Services VFI’s Security & Public Safety track introduces our students to conflict management, crisis intervention, disaster-evacuation procedures, report writing, terrorism awareness & prevention procedures and CPR & First Aid training.

Students will receive eight (8) hours of security introductory guidelines certificate, sixteen (16) hours on-the-job training on/off site certificate, NYS Security Guard License & I.D. Card ( will take 6-8 weeks after submission) and eight (8) hours of annual refresher course certificate ( to be taken at the end of the 1st year). Salary in the security industry range from $7.50 - $14.00 hourly.

This training requires you to be 18-24 years old, have a clean criminal background and New York State ID & authorization to work in the US.

We accept vouchers from VESID, HRA and Workforce One for this training.
